Each year, homeowner's approve the operating and capital budgets used to maintain the high the quality of life that our homeowner's enjoy. The volunteers who make up the Board of Directors, with the help of those who volunteer as chairpersons for our committees, work to ensure that Willow Meadows remains a safe, beautiful, and enjoyable subdivision to live in.
Currently, our private Security Patrol Program has two patrol cars and employs 10 Houston Police Department (HPD) Officers. The Officers wear their HPD uniform and carry their weapon. The Officers are contacted in person, by cell phone, or through contact with the Security Director. The Patrol Cars are equipped with the latest technology, including a wireless laptop computer used to manage vacation watches, incident reports, and other purposes. Our Security Patrol is a sophisticated and effective program that benefits Willow Meadows homeowners to a high degree. Due to the importance homeowners and the Board of Directors have placed on the Security Patrol Program, the majority of our annual budget is allocated to the Security account.
Besides maintaining our neighborhood safe through the visibility of our Security Program, we maintain three esplanade areas and continue to work on the rehab of our neighborhood entrance signs. In addition, the neighborhood is sprayed for mosquitoes during the mosquito season. The beautification and maintenance of Willow Meadows takes up the next largest percentage of our annual budget.
Close behind the expenditures of maintaining our neighborhood, the Deed Restriction Committee works to manage and to help neighbors whose homes have deteriorated to an extreme degree, thus violating the deed restrictions that our homeowners voted for in 1998. This committee works diligently with the goal of helping neighbors bring their home to the minimum standard as required by Willow Meadows Deed Restrictions and Bylaws.
Our Civic Club also communicates with all homeowners through our quarterly general meetings, special meetings, quarterly newsletter, and through the use of this web site. Money is set aside to print, mail, and maintain these communication avenues.
Overall, the Board of Directors acts properly and manages the Civic Club's expenditures closely with the help of Willow Meadows Civic Club's Certified Public Accountant.
